When the Stars Align: An Epic Session With Four Incredible Dogs

Every once in a while, a session comes along that reinforces to  me exactly why I love what I do. Recently, I had the chance to photograph a family's four beautifully trained dogs, not just in one gorgeous location, but two. And yes… it required an early wake-up, some travel, and a lot of commitment. Totally worth it.

What made this session so special wasn’t just the scenery (although it was jaw-dropping). It was the way this family showed up fully ready for the adventure. Sunrise call time? They were in. A bit of driving down a dirt road to chase the best light and the most beautiful foliage? No problem. Dogs needing to settle, pose, and stay focused in new environments? These pups handled it like absolute pros.

Their energy set the tone. When clients are excited, prepared, and willing to make the effort, something magical happens: the dogs relax, the humans enjoy the experience, and I get to create images that feel like a story rather than a photoshoot.

This session was a reminder that the most memorable photos often come from a mix of trust, teamwork, and a little bit of adventure. And these four dogs gave me everything—joyful expressions, perfect posing, and a whole lot of heart.
